Obituary for Rose E Scott
Rose E. Scott, age 94, passed away on December 18, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Rose was born and raised in Philadelphia and, after traveling the world with her family, settled in Willingboro, New Jersey in 1972. She later moved to Connecticut for a number of years before returning to New Jersey in the late 1980s where her home in Marlton became the gathering space and focal point for her family. Rose was always very close to the Lord and she devoted her life to her Lord and her family. She was a mother to all who needed her and she was very active in her church and her community throughout her life. Rose was a longtime member of St. John Neumann Church where, over the years, she taught CCD, was a Eucharistic Minister, and volunteered on many committees.
Rose raised and helped to raise generations of her family, traveling the world on her own and with her children and grandchildren, even until just a few months ago. She enjoyed experiencing the world around her, meeting new people, bowling, playing games, and most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family, of whom she was incredibly proud. Rose was an inspiration to all who met her, and she made everyone feel loved and blessed.
Rose was predeceased by her children, Michael Ellerbe and Esther Ellerbe. She is survived by her children, Arthur P. Scott (Roxanne), Mary O. Scott, Theresa R. Scott and Hope H. Scott; her grandchildren, Crystal Ellerbe, Sydney Graham, Nicholas Saponaro, Michael Scott, and Jessica Scott; and her great grandchildren, Sabrina Ellerbe and Sianni Ellerbe.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 4-6 PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals 212 Ark Road Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Her mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday December 23, 2019 at 10:30AM at St. John Neumann Church 560 Walton Road Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Entombment will follow mass at Jesus Bread of Life Cemetery, Mount Laurel, NJ.
