Obituary for Adrian Dmitri Harris

Adrian D. Harris, age 63, of Ewing, NJ, formerly of Mount Laurel, passed away on February 18, 2024.

Adrian was born on December 29, 1960 to the late Clarestean and Melvin Harris in Washington, D.C. Adrian was Senior Director of IT at Bristol Myers Squibb and, more recently, NYC Health + Hospitals where he transitioned to a role in Project Management. He was about two years away from retirement (had a countdown) and was planning to move back to Florida to enjoy the rest of his days. He was known to be quite the social butterfly, always having a huge smile and a big laugh when out with others. Adrian loved a good night out and always ensured his friends and family were having a good time. He cared for others deeply, often mentoring and giving advice to friends and strangers; he always showed up when you needed him. He enjoyed a good cigar and was a member of the Tobacco Leaf Cigar Lounge where he enjoyed movie night, watching the games, and hanging out with guys while enjoying his cigar. He enjoyed the beach (especially those Tiki outings, Hilton Head, and FL), motorcycles—where he had quite the run with some fast bikes in his days, and a good steak or Mable/Brittany fried chicken. He was a diehard Washington fan- especially the Commanders (Redskins) who he kept hope alive for every season. The list could go on and on, he loved life and seized opportunities to afford himself and his family and friends were always taken care of. Adrian will be missed deeply by his loved ones.

Adrian is predeceased by his wife, Mable Harris. He is survived by his children, Dmitri Harris (Mary) and Brittany Harris (Jurrell); his niece he raised, Tiffeney Johnson-Hobbs (Adrian); siblings, Tina Williams (Alan) and Anthony Harris (Chris); best friend Trushar Patel who he considered to be his brother; nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of friends and co-workers whom lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to Adrian’s visitation on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 11AM – 1PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Memorial service to follow at 1PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Adrian’s name to American Foundation of Suicide Prevention at https://afsp.org/.
