Obituary for Alvin J. Scully
Alvin J. Scully, of Southampton, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. He was 90 years old and had lived a long and blessed life.
Mr. Scully was born in Florence, New Jersey to the late Stanley H. Scully and Kate Scully (nee Goldy). He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War and reaching the rank of Sergeant. He worked as a county roads supervisor for Burlington County Public Works. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting, going to casinos, and playing bingo.
Mr. Scully was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Maryann Scully; son, Alvin G. Scully; sisters, Mildred Applegate, Leah Purks, and Thelma Travia; brothers, Edward Scully, Paul Scully, and Stanley Scully; and step-brothers, Harry Lutes and Russel Lutes. Surviving are his children, Keith Scully (Heather). Brenda Emmons (Walter), Bernice Hinkson (Wayne), Jay Hussmann (Heather), Herman “Marty” Hussman III (Phyllis), and Ricky Hussmann (Pamela); 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, March 9th, at 10:00 AM, at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, New Jersey 08562.
