Obituary for Andrew Weber

Andrew Weber, Esquire, age 74, of Mount Laurel, passed away on October 22, 2022.

Andrew was born on December 2, 1947 to the late Beverly and William in Newark, NJ. Andrew was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and Capital University Law School, he was admitted to the bar in New Jersey in 1973. He is a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania State Bar Associations, as well as a former member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Ethics Committee. Andrew Weber has more than 30 years of legal experience in local, state and federal government.
Weber was also Gloucester County Counsel for 15 years, during which time he served as President of the NJ County Counsel Association. In 1992, he was appointed chairman of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. His work has also included serving as municipal prosecutor for the Borough of Glassboro and prosecutor or special counsel to several New Jersey communities.

Mr. Weber was also the co-founder and general counsel to the National Tax Lien Association. His other appointments include serving as Chief Counsel to former N.J. Governor Jim Florio, Commissioner of Personnel and a member of the Executive Commission on Ethical Standards, Industry Sector Advisory Committee for the U.S. Trade Policy, special finance counsel to Washington, D.C., Special Counsel to the City of Atlantic City and Executive Director of Willingboro Municipal Utilities Authority, Board of Trustees for Cooper Hospital, and Board of Trustees of Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and board member of the National Kidney Foundation and Ambassador for The Gift of Life. Andrew was the first in the Philadelphia region chronic kidney disease patient to successfully receive a kidney from an incompatible donor, his wife Rita.
Andrew is predeceased by his mother Beverly Getzenberg, stepfather, Nathan Getzenberg and his sister, Shelah Getzenberg. Andrew is survived by his wife Rita (nee Stevenson) of 22 years; children, Kelly A. Smith (Drew) and Bryan W. Weber (Maura Deedy); siblings, Richard Weber (Karen Lange) and Joy Getzenberg; grandchildren, Lily, Grayson, Reid, Beatrice and Alice; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, October 26,2022 from 10AM-11AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Funeral service to follow at 11AM. Interment Crescent Memorial Park, Pennsauken, NJ. The family will sit Shiva on Wednesday October 26, 2022 from 3-7pm at
24 Jazz Way Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
