Obituary for Bernice Mary Reilly (Ryzinski)

Bernice M. Reilly (Ryzinski) passed away peacefully on February 26th, 2023 at age 88, in her home while surrounded by her loving family.

Born in South Philadelphia on August 18th 1934, Bernice attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and was a 1953 graduate of John W. Hallahan High School. Bernice was a hard-working employee and began her career alongside her longtime friend Edna Bachelor at the Curtis Publishing Company known today as the Curtis Center.  At age 16, while attending a Sadie Hawkins Dance at South East Catholic High School, Bernice asked a dapper Tom Reilly to dance...The rest is history!

They married May 4, 1957 and moved to Riverside NJ. In 1971, they found their forever home in Delran NJ. Bernice was a long-time member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and currently a member at Parish of the Resurrection - St. Casimir. In 1979 alongside her husband, she founded the Thomas J Reilly Electrical Contractor Company, RJT Electric, followed by TNT Equipment Sales and Rentals Inc.

Bernice enjoyed family over everything.  Spending time with them meant the world to her. Countless trips to Disney World followed by many summers in Sea Isle City NJ.  Bernice traveled to Europe many times throughout her lifetime visiting Poland, Ireland, England, Italy, France, Austria, Amsterdam, Monaco and Germany. Bernice was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker, scout leader, worked in the Delran Public Schools and was a life time Mummers String Band fan.

Bernice was pre-deceased by her son Thomas J. Reilly III.  She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Thomas J Reilly Jr.; daughter Nancy Maurer (Jim); daughter-in-law, Faith Reilly; grandchildren, Meghan Reilly Scullin (John), Thomas J. Reilly IV (Melanie), Stephanie L. Wojcik (Michael), JT Maurer (Helen Schiavo), Patrick R. Reilly (Lucy Billings) Danielle M.Dennion (Mark); great grandchildren, Mackenzie Quinn Wojcik, Parker Shea Wojcik, Brynleigh Maeve Wojcik, Thomas J. Reilly V, and Kelsea Ryann Dennion; loving sister, Stella Mallon (Tom), along with her children Suzanne Barreras (Charles), Colleen Mitchell (Phil), Tommy Mallon.  Also survived by many great nieces and nephews. Longtime friend to Sharon Maurer.

Family and friends are welcome to her viewing on Sunday March 5th from 3-6PM at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Rd, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10am Monday, March 6th, at Parish of the Resurrection - St. Casimir, 502 New Jersey Ave Riverside, New Jersey 08075.  Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Memorial Park 1300 RT-130N, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernice's memory may be made to the: Thomas J. Reilly III Scholarship Fund at 17 Abbotsford Drive, Marlton NJ 08053.
