Obituary for Billy Michael Gray Jr.

Very quietly and peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2023, Almighty God in his infinite wisdom, mercy, and grace gently closed the eyes of our beloved, Billy Michael Gray Jr. He always maintained a positive attitude for life and an amazing sense of humor despite the health challenges he experienced in recent years.

Bill or Mike, as he is affectionately called by his family, was born on July 11,1975 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He barely weighed 4 pounds and was in intensive care for some time before going home. He was one of two children born to Billy Michael Gray Sr. and Patricia Daniels Gray Madison. Bill was educated in the Philadelphia public school system and graduated from Overbrook High School. In 1993, he enrolled at Philadelphia Community College to earn an associate’s degree.  He furthered his education at Lincoln Technical Institute and Camden County College to pursue his love of computer technology and electronics. Bill worked diligently and held many supervisory positions throughout his life in computers, sales, and customer service. His work ethic, sense of humor, and love of working with the public all contributed to his professional success.

To know Bill is to know he was a foodie and sports enthusiast who loved all sports but especially the Philadelphia 76ers and Eagles. He was overjoyed that the Eagles were in the Super Bowl and the Sixers were doing well this year too. Bill also loved creating music with his friends in the industry. This was one of his hobbies that allowed for self-expression. If he couldn’t find the words in a conversation, he would definitely find a tune and a song lyric.

In 1994 Bill told his mom that he met the love of his life Tiffany Savage and they have been inseparable ever since. Together they enjoyed movies, music, gatherings with family and friends, sports, and anywhere there was a beach. They also shared their love of the Lord and gospel music. Bill and Tiffany shared 28 years of love sustained by faith and trust.

Bill was a devoted fiancé, son, brother, and uncle who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Laughing and having fun with his family surrounding him always made him happy. He was respected by all who knew him for his kind, caring, and generous spirit. His memory will  forever be cherished by his fiancé, Tiffany Savage,   father Billy Michael Gray, Sr., of Philadelphia, PA mother, Patricia Daniels Gray Madison, (James Madison) of Greenville, SC,  sister, LaShawna Fraser (Dr. Gordon Fraser) of Peachtree City, GA, nieces, Jaelin Fraser of Atlanta, GA, and Lauren Fraser of Portland, OR, step-brother, Harvey Lambert Jr.(Terri), Atlantic City, N.J, step-sisters, Stephanie Banks(Robert) and Shannon Thurman(Jeremy) of Simpsonville, SC,  aunts, Barbara Cleveland of Seneca, S.C., and Jennifer Daniels of Farmington, MI  uncles, Russell Williams of Costa Mesa, CA, J.P.  “I have fought a good fight. I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.”
