Obituary for Carlton John Decker

Carlton J. Decker “Carl”, age 83, of Mount Laurel, passed away on February 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Carl was born on October 8, 1939 in Staten Island, NY to the late Bernice (nee Braisted) and John Decker. He was a kind and loving man that dedicated his life to his family, especially his grandchildren. Carl was long-time member of the Masonville Fire Department where he previously served as Secretary. He was also a member of the Masons. He volunteered his time to coach Fleetwood Baseball and Softball.  Carl had an untiring work ethic and enjoyed his job as a beer salesman where he won many honorable awards. In his retirement, Carl loved his job as a driver for Manheim Car Auction. The things Carl enjoyed most were the beach, crabbing, yardwork, antique and stock cars, the Phillies, playing the organ, dancing and just being a “Big Kid”! Carl would give you the shirt off of his back and would do anything for those he loved. He will be missed deeply by his loved ones.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lorraine (nee Thompson); his children, Janet Tedesco (George), Nancy Johnson (Bill), Valerie Decker, C.J. Decker (Tracy) and Tom Decker; grandchildren, Tim Tedesco, Landon Gould, Wes Decker, Dakotah Gould, Kaitlin Toomey, Logan Decker, Eric Johnson, Liam Decker and Carl Johnson; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Rocco, Vittore, Adalynn, Jackson and one on the way.

Relatives and friends are invited to Carl’s visitation on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 10AM-11AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Memorial service to follow at 11AM.
