Obituary for Catherine M. Flanagan (Munn)
Catherine Flanagan (nee Munn, aka Sullivan), age 94, of Mount Laurel, NJ passed away in the comfort of her own home while surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
Mrs. Flanagan was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and had resided in Pennsauken and Cherry Hill, NJ before moving to Mount Laurel 25 years ago. Catherine graduated from Hallahan High School for Girls in 1945 and worked as an Executive Secretary in several different fields until retirement. She enjoyed traveling (especially to Bermuda and Ireland), loved visits to the shore and mountains, decorating her home for holidays, debating politics, hosting parties, and was an avid reader. Catherine loved going to movies, attending plays and concerts in Philadelphia and NYC. She was a supporter of Deborah Heart & Lung Center. Catherine was a great listener who provided love and support to us all. But above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends and will be very deeply missed by those she leaves behind.
Catherine was predeceased by her spouses, Thomas P Sullivan and Francis T Flanagan, her siblings Helen V and Thomas F Munn and stepson, Brian Flanagan. She is survived by her children, James Sullivan (Cordalia) and Kathleen Sullivan; grandchildren Melissa Sullivan (Sam), Peter Sullivan (Colleen), Ryan Sullivan; and great-grandchildren Adam & Lia Sullivan-Pharo.
Catherine is also survived by her Flanagan stepchildren: Noreen Wilder (Nelson), Michael Flanagan (Michelle), Thomas Flanagan, Kathy Rymal (Chris), Patricia Amatrudi (Jim), Maryellen Seidman (Maury) and grandchildren Seth (Taline), Jennifer (Doug), Cadee (Mark) Wilder; John (Kelly), Sean (Angel) & Megan (Chris) Flanagan; Barbara & Patrick Flanagan; Kristin & Dominic DiPietro; Colleen, Christopher, Francis & Patrick Rymal; Jessica Whitfield; Jay & Zach Amatrudi; and Sam, Brian & Claire Seidman as well as 14 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM at Saint John Neumann RC Church, 560 Walton Ave, Mount Laurel, NJ. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Catherine’s name may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of NJ at https://www.arthritis.org/donate
