Obituary for Charlotte Meyers
Charlotte Meyers, age 90, of Medford, NJ, passed away on April 15, 2024. Charlotte was born in Camden, NJ and grew up in Pennsauken, NJ. She was the youngest of three (brother George Jr & sister Louise), borne to the late George & Lavinia (nee Smoyer) Hoesch. Charlotte was a graduate of Moorestown High School.
Charlotte met her husband of nearly 69 years, Roy L. Meyers, Jr, at the Pennsauken pool and often liked to recount how they first met. After they married, they lived 7 years in Merchantville, NJ and 17 in Pennsauken, before Roy’s business took them south to the Eastern Shore of Maryland for nearly 30 years. After retirement, though, the pull of their South Jersey roots was strong, and they returned to live in Marlton, NJ in 2007.
Charlotte was a stay-at-home Mom who delighted in raising her four children. She referred to the children’s younger years as the best years of her life. Her children and their spouses, as well as her 10 grandchildren, will always treasure her kindness, gentleness, bright disposition, warmth, compassion and wit.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Charlotte is also survived by her five great grandchildren.
