Obituary for Christy Mathewson Ball
Christy M. Ball, 87, of Westampton NJ, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died at his home on Thursday morning surrounded by family.
Mr. Ball was an educator for many years, working as a teacher, principal, and finally as superintendent of schools in Springfield Township, Burlington County. After a short retirement, Mr. Ball worked for the Burlington County Welfare Board for many years, continuing to share his energy, knowledge, and love of people with all he encountered.
Mr. Ball was very active in The Presbyterian Church of Willingboro for more than 50 years, serving as an Elder, teaching Sunday School, acting as Clerk of Session and volunteering as the church’s treasurer for 20 years. While he never quite made it in the Chancel Choir, with his wife, he supported the choir for over 40 years.
Mr. Ball is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Joyce, sons Jeffrey (Suzanne), Stephen (Brian), Jonathan (Kara), and daughter Cynthia, grandchildren Zachary and Nate (Sarah Lee) McMullen, Ashley (Paul) Fritchey, Alex and Chris Ball, and James and Zachary Perkins, as well as great-grandchildren Sophia, Silas, Sterling, Piper and Paul.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday June 26, 2021 from 10-11am immediately followed by his funeral service both at the Presbyterian Church of Willingboro 494 Beverly Rancoccas Road Willingboro, NJ 08046.
