Obituary for Constance Louise Brownell

Constance Louise “Connie” Brownell (nee Wells), age 84, of Mount Laurel, NJ passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 in the comfort of her home while surrounded by loving family.

Connie was born and raised in Gardner, MA. She was a 1959 graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Connie had a love for children and taught for a number of years in local preschools as well as the Moorestown and Voorhees Public School systems where she retired in 2002. She lived in Cherry Hill, NJ for many years where she raised her family before moving to Mount Laurel 23 years ago. Connie was a longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill, NJ where she regularly volunteered as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed vacationing with family and friends every summer in Lake George, NY where she water skied well into her 70’s. She was a lover of Philly sports teams, an avid reader and a talented pianist who enjoyed staying in close touch with her many friends that she had accumulated throughout her life. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her 9 grandchildren where she rarely missed a sporting event, musical or theater performance, or special occasion in their lives. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends but especially by her grandchildren who all had a very special relationship with their “Gram.”

Connie was predeceased by her beloved spouse, David Brownell in 1984 as well as her sister, Shirley Trudel. She is survived by her three children, Debby Talbott (Steve), Rick Brownell, and Steve Brownell (Robin) and grandchildren, Rich Talbott, Nicole Brownell, Chris Talbott (Carrie), Brian Talbott, Madeline Brownell, Jacqueline Brownell Jusino (Jonathan), Jessica Brownell, Sam Brownell, and David Brownell.

There will be an outdoor memorial service on Tuesday, June 15th at 5 pm at the home of Steve and Robin Brownell 2605 Fenimore Road Hainesport, NJ. Memorial contributions in Connie’s name may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 499 Marlton Pike E, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 www.trinpres.org
