Obituary for David John Newcomb
David John Newcomb, age 58, passed away on February 25, 2020.
He was a resident of Tabernacle, NJ for the past 22 years. He was a carpenter by trade who loved to spend time in his workshop. His love for the outdoors was well known, he enjoyed camping, canoeing, and hiking with his children and grandkids. He relished going on day trips and sharing his love for history with his family by visiting historical sites. The Outer Banks held a special place in his heart, he loved driving down there and simply relaxing in the sun as the waves crashed along the shore. It was a special place for him and his family. His high school sweetheart and wife for 36 years, Lisa, was the joy of his life, as were his children and grandchildren. He was always willing to help those in need, always there for his children, and loved his grandchildren deeply. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, humbleness, and a deep abiding faith in Christ.
David was predeceased by his brother, Wayne Newcomb. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann (Nee Pratt) Newcomb; his children, Jason Newcomb( Shannon), Courteney Giobbie (Lee), Calley Newcomb, Jared Newcomb and Kaylyn Newcomb; his grandchildren, Teagan Joy Newcomb, Seth Newcomb, Matteo Newcomb, Elizabeth Giobbie, William Giobbie, Kathryn Giobbie, Jacob Giobbie and Luke Giobbie; His parents, Sheldon and Marie Newcomb and his siblings, Linda Borovkoff, Dawn Carr, Mark Newcomb and Terri Boyd.
Family and friends invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday March 3, 2020 at Fellowship Community Church, from 10am to 12 pm immediately followed by his Celebration of Life Service. Interment is Private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Perinatal Palliative Care and Bereavement Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
