Obituary for Douglas Hyde Springer

Douglas H. Springer was born in Englewood, NJ, in 1927 and passed away at age 93.

He was valedictorian of his class at Englewood H.S. He graduated from Yale in 1948, where he was in the Glee Club and a member of the Navy V-12. He graduated from Columbia Law School in 1950 and became a member of the NY bar that same year.

He practiced law for the Port of NY Authority and at Worthington Co. He joined Campbell Soup in the Legal Department. Later he began work in finance and was Vice President and Treasurer for most of his career.

Doug was a man of many activities. He was Chairman of his Yale class agents. He served on a variety of boards, including the Yale Alumni Fund, Virtua Hospital, NJ Society of Pennsylvania, Y’s Men’s Club of Moorestown, Liberty Mutual Insurance, and the Estaugh Board of Medford Leas. He also co-chaired the Moorestown yearly Antique Show. He was founder and President of the Treasurer’s Club of Philadelphia.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Springer, daughters Susan Mitchell and Debora Lieberman, and granddaughters Amanda Lieberman and Sarah Lieberman.
