Edna Kathren “Kathy” Harting (nee Helmick), age 58, of Jobstown, NJ passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family in her last days and was loved more than she will ever know.
Mrs. Harting was born in Gassaway, WV and raised in Sutton, WV. She joined the US Air Force in 1981 and was able to travel the world before retiring honorably after twenty years. After her retirement, she continued to serve our country while managing the Air Force Inns. She was a fierce leader and always a committed service member.
Kathy had four wonderful children, two beautiful step-daughters, and eight grandchildren (and one on the way) that she loved more than anything in this world. She was the most generous, caring, loving mother anyone could ask for. She was also a devoted member of the Columbus Baptist Church. In her leisure, she enjoyed crafting, antiquing, and refurbishing furniture. But above all, she cherished the time spent with family and will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind.
Kathy was predeceased by her spouse, Ricky D. Harting. She is survived by her children,
Joseph S. Ferero, James H. Ferero, Ashley G. McCabe, Victoria L. Harting; step-daughters Amber Patterson and Maghen Larson; mother, Phyllis J. Helmick, brother, Bobby L. Helmick; sister, Melissa Milefors; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anthony, Nicholas, Julia, Noah, Jaxson, Leo, Reid; and several nieces and nephews.
At this time, no funeral arrangements have been made.
