Obituary for Edwin Arriaga
Edwin Arriaga, age 61, passed on January 12, 2024 with his family by his side.
He was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to the late Angel Luis Arriaga and Antonia Arriaga. He was a resident of Mount Laurel, NJ for the past 19 years. He was the first Hispanic firefighter in Plainfield, NJ fire department and work his way up to a lieutenant before he retired. He was a 3x black belt in martial arts and he trained in Aikido as well. He was a jack of all trades and a car enthusiast who love to rebuild and work on his cars.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maria E. (nee Ortiz) Arriaga; his children, Jonathan E. Arriaga, Patrice L. Arriaga, Edwin A. Arriaga and Shenette A. Lopez; his grandchildren, Ma”Leah Brown and Chance Brown; his great grandchildren, Jahsiah Diaz and Na’Leah Brown; his mother Antonia Arriaga; his siblings, Mirna Arriaga, Yolanda Feliciano, Fernando Arriaga and Jorge Arriaga.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass. Thursday, January 25, 2024, 11 AM at the Church of St. Isaac Jogues, 349 Evesboro-Medford Road, Marlton, NJ 08053. Everyone is invited back to the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals to visit with his family from 12:30 - 2:30 PM. Interment will take place privately.
