Obituary for Eleanor La Fiandra

Eleanor La Fiandra, 78, of Williamsburg, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eleanor Korany and brother, Charles Korany.

She attended New York City public schools, Evander Childs High School, and Sacred Heart University where she obtained her Associate of Science. Eleanor was employed by Korn Ferry International and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also had a love of learning and sharing laughter and was also an expert story teller. A world traveler, Eleanor kept current with world events with daily reading of the Wall Street Journal. She was an expert seamstress who made beautiful clothing for herself, children and grandchildren. A talented baker, she was especially known for her beautiful and tasty cookies. Eleanor also had a highly skilled artistic talent, especially in drawing and painting. She was a Colonial Williamsburg docent, a member of book clubs, a discussion group, a dine-out group, expert bridge player of women’s and couples bridge groups, and a member of Two Rivers Country Club.

Survivors include her husband, Carlo La Fiandra; son, Craig La Fiandra (Debra); daughters, Diane Eager (Bob) and Christine Kienzle (Paul); grandchildren, Thomas Kienzle, Reed Kienzle, William La Fiandra, Jacob La Fiandra, Caroline Kienzle, Ryan Eager, and Alexander Eager; sisters, Patricia Sudol and Carol Korany McKeon; and beloved sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28th from 6-9pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. Mass will be held at 10:30am on Friday, October 4, 2019 at The Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, 42 West Main Street, Moorestown, New Jersey 08057. Interment will follow at the Jesus Bread of Life Catholic Cemetery, 3055 Fostertown Road, Mt. Laurel, New Jersey 08054.
