Obituary for Eugene Thomas O'Hearn
Eugene T. O’Hearn, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Eugene was born on July 3, 1936 to the late Helen and Michael J. O’Hearn in Hannibal, MO. He was the youngest of nine children. He previously resided in Missouri, Minnesota, and Illinois before residing in Mount Laurel for the last 50 years. Eugene was retired from Union Carbide as division manager. He was strong in his faith and a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Moorestown. Eugene was past president of the Greentree Recreation Association. He was a veteran of the United States Army, The Knights of Columbus, Catholic Charities and American Volksports Association. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed designing and creating stained glass.
Eugene is predeceased by his grandson Vincent, Jr. Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine (nee Knopik); his children, Vincent E. O’Hearn, Sr., Robert F. O’Hearn, Sr., Elizabeth C. Kromish and Carol A. Tanzola; sister Eleanor O’Hearn C.S.J. and sister-in-law Nancy O’Hearn; grandchildren, Kathleen, Jessica, Robert Jr., Kassandra, Kyle, Adam, Colleen, and Anthony; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Eugene’s viewing on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Interment will be private.
