Obituary for Eugenia Janet Sedlar (Popadics)
Eugenia J. Sedlar (“Genie”), age 88, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
On November 11, 1933, Genie was born in Lodi, New Jersey to the late Nicholas and Helen Popadics, and has been a resident of Cherry Hill for 45 years. Genie had a strong faith and loved her “church family” at the Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross where she has been a parishioner for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed playing on her iPad, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. Above all else, Genie loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.
Genie is predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Richard Sedlar, Sr.; and her siblings, Emil Popadics (Helen), Mary Czap (Stephen), and Helen Zak (Peter). She is survived by her children, Becky Silbert (Dan), and Richard Sedlar, Jr.; grandchildren, Nicole and David Silbert; and by her loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 28th from 7:00-8:00PM, with a funeral service following at 8:00PM, both of which will be held at The Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross, 11 Wilkins Station Road, Medford, New Jersey 08055. Interment will be at 11:30AM on Thursday, September 29th at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Ave, Clifton, NJ 07014.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either Genie’s church, Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross (11 Wilkins Station Road, Medford, New Jersey 08055) or to a charity that is special to you in her loving memory.
