Obituary for Frank Anthony Procopio

Frank A. Procopio, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2021.

Frank was born and raised in South Philadelphia. After his father’s passing at a young age, he spent his youth attending Girard College in Philadelphia, which at the time, was a school for fatherless boys. Frank served as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 until 1953. He served in Verdun France, where he met and married the love of his life, and even learned to speak the French language fluently. Frank was self-employed, owning The Porter House Bar in South Philadelphia and later owned and leased out apartments with his brother. After retirement, Frank was truly blessed to be able to travel to France every summer to spend time with relatives. In his leisure time, Frank loved watching his Philadelphia sports teams and doing his crossword puzzles. Above all, nothing made him happier than spending every day with his loving family. He will be missed by many.

Frank is predeceased by his beloved spouse in 2009, Suzanne Procopio; mother Philomena Procopio and father Saverio Procopio, as well as his brothers Anthony, Samuel, and Don. He is survived by his children, Francine Caldwell (James-Deceased) and Michele Stewart (Dennis); sister Catherine Lipschutz (age 101 years old); grandchildren Monique Flynn (Dave), Michael Stewart (Erin), Nicholas Stewart (Angela), Gina Terrance (Lawrence), Jason Caldwell (Nicole), and Joshua Caldwell (Kate); great-grandchildren Daveigh Stewart, Norah Stewart, Dylan Stewart, Harrison Stewart, Dante Flynn, Kaiya Terrance, Caelyn Caldwell, and Kaleigh Caldwell; nephew Richard Procopio; nieces Diane Vogel, Phyllis Procopio, and Ronnie Impo; his loving family in France.
