Frederick Phillip Fitzpatrick

Frederick P. Fitzpatrick, age 76, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family.

Fred was born in Camden, NJ to the late Frederick and Mary Fitzpatrick, and had resided in Pennsauken, NJ before his current residence of over 25 years in Mt. Laurel. Fred bravely served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, being honorably discharged with The Purple Heart Medal. After his military service, Fred went on to be a Detective for the Voorhees Police Department for over 25 years. He was a member of the undercover narcotic force and a great detective until his retirement in 2002. He was also the President of the Camden County Juvenile Aid Officers Association, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Veterans Affairs, and the Cramer Hill Boys Club. In his free time, Fred enjoyed playing cards, going to the casinos, and going to the horse races. Fred loved animals and would often give to Animal Welfare and Humane Societies when he could.

Fred is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Fitzpatrick; daughter, Dorothy Albano; step-daughters, Kelly Filer, Lisa Chant, Kerin Howe, and Jessica Vazquez; brother, Thomas Fitzpatrick; and grandchildren, Giovanni, Domenico, Courtney, Austin, Jamie, Nicholas, Dan, and Louis.

Relatives and friends are welcome to Fred’s graveside service on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11:30AM, at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
