George J. Curry, age 80 of Hainesport, NJ passed away on March 11, 2023.

Uncle George was an avid hunter & fisherman. The family’s cabin in Maine was his favorite place. He loved his family deeply, especially his daughter Christy. He was a Master Carpenter with Camden Local 393. There was nothing he couldn’t build or fix. George was a lifetime member of the Hainesport Fire Company & Emergency Squad. He was fire chief from 1971-1975 and served the community from the 1960’s into the 1990’s, when he retired from active duty.

George is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley (nee Stayton); his daughter, Christy Curry (Todd Walter); his sister Louise Milligan, his Sister in Law Anne Stayton, and Brother & Sister in Law Robert & Ruth McCleery. George was also survived by his best friend Jason Corn and the Corn Family.

Uncle George had many, many nieces and nephews. Some related and some not. He was famous for his dry sense of humor & one liners. He was always there to give advice to friends and family. If he cared about you, he watched over you.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 12PM to 2:30PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Memorial service to follow at 2:30PM.
