Obituary for Helen Adeline Glowacki (D'Urso)

Helen A. Glowacki (nee D’Urso), age 90, of Mount Laurel, formerly of Linwood and the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024.

Helen loved fiercely, cared deeply and lived fully.  Helen was a graduate of John W. Hallahan High School in Philadelphia and grew up in the Fairmount section of the city. She was devoted to her husband of 68 years, “Wacks,” her children, grand-children and other family members. She was delighted by the recent birth of her great-grandsons. Helen was a loyal friend, and formed lasting relationships with an extended family created at all of the stops along the way. A faithful member of the Catholic faith, she was always happy to say a prayer for anyone in need. She was a long-time member of St. John Neumann Church in Mt. Laurel.

Helen loved spending time with her family and friends.  Holidays were always special and her famous meatballs have been copied many times but never duplicated.  Helen loved to travel, shop and visit her favorite spots.  In her later years when it became difficult to get out, she greatly enjoyed visits and telephone conversations with nieces, nephews and friends.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, John F. Glowacki; her children, John F. Glowacki, Jr. (Rosemarie) and Carol Hawk; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Glowacki and John Glowacki, III (Samantha), Ki Rieffel and Alee Bek; great-grandsons, Jack and Lukas Glowacki; her brother-in-law Stanley Glowacki and many loving nieces and nephews. Helen is predeceased by her parents Emilio and Catherine (Flaherty) D’Urso and her siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to Helen’s viewing on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 8:30AM to 10AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at St. John Neumann Church, 560 Walton Avenue, Mount Laurel, NJ. Interment private at the request of the family.
