Obituary for James Frank Amato Sr.
James F. Amato, Sr. of Marlton, NJ, passed away on August 4, 2020, at the age of 87.
James was born and raised in Camden, NJ, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Mary Amato (nee McShane), before moving to Marlton in 1959. James owned his own pizzeria in Pennsauken, named Amato’s Pizzeria, for many years. He is a member of Saint Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church.
James is survived by his loving wife of nearly 69 years, Mary Amato; children, James F. Amato, Jr. (Karen), Susan Fantine (Robert), Jerry Amato (Becky), Stephen Amato, Tommy Amato (Becky), Linda Christie (Robert), Doreen Cutler (Maury), Terri Vosbikien (Tom), Vince Amato (Beth), Eileen DiMatteo, John Amato (Darlene), Anne Ricchini (Mike), Mike Amato (Stephanie), and Chris Amato (Indy); as well as many loving grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Theresa Cavalier and Antoinette Biederbach.
Friends and family are welcome to his visitation from 9:00AM-10:00AM on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ, 08054, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Saint Joan of Arc RC Church, 100 Willow Bend Road, Marlton, NJ 08053. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery, 25 Fostertown Road, Medford, NJ 08055.
