Obituary for James Thomas Carr
James Thomas Carr, age 90, passed away on March 26, 2022 in Mount Laurel, NJ surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Darby, PA. He attended Drexel University and graduated with an Engineering Degree. He was a star basketball player in high school. One of his fondest memories was playing basketball at the Palestra. He worked for National Semi-Conductor as Regional Sales Manager for the East Coast. He was a huge Philadelphia sports fan and loved watching the Eagles and Phillies. As a child, the family vacationed in Atlantic City, NJ. He carried on this tradition with his family in Wildwood and had a home in the Crest for many years. He liked to read, listening to band music of the 40’s, especially jazz. He was a wine connoisseur and belong to a wine club. He belonged to the Marlton Elks Club for many years. He has been a resident of Mount Laurel for over 50 years. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Geraldine Ann Carr (Nee Archangel); his children, James Thomas Carr, Jr., Stephen Carr, Kathryn Mary Flanagan, Sandra Gibson, Michele Stillman and David Carr. Also survived by 12 grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday evening, April 1 2022 from 6-8 pm at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals 212 Ark Road Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning, April 2, 2022 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 42 West Main Street Moorestown, NJ 08057. Interment will be private.
