James Williams, age 85, of Mount Laurel, NJ, previously of Sayreville, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

James was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on June 15, 1937 to the late Maude and Virgil Williams. James proudly served our country in the US Navy and was a volunteer fire fighter with the Perth Amboy Fire Department for close to 40 years rising to the rank of Chief.  He also served as President of the Exempt Association during his time with the Department.  James was also Boy Scout Leader for many years. James dedicated his life to his family and will be missed deeply by his loved ones.

Predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Anna, and Son Gary, he is survived by his daughter, Melinda St. John and her husband Richard; and his granddaughter, Sophia St. John.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 10AM to 11:30AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Service to follow at 11:30AM. Interment private at the request of the family.
