Jacques A. "Jack" Senechal, 82 of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, passed away on June 28, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jack was born in Montreal, Canada, as the second of three children to Armand and Cecile Senechal.  He moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1951.  He proudly served in the United States Army and then began his career as a printer with the Philadelphia Enquirer.  After marrying his loving wife, Jane, he moved to Mount Laurel where he has been an active resident and neighbor for the past 54 years.  While working full-time and raising three young children, he earned a degree in computer science from Glassboro State University.  Thereafter, he was a systems analyst and project manager until his retirement from IBM in 2004.

Jack was a kind and thoughtful gentleman, who rarely had a cross word for anyone.  He accepted others without judgment.  His quiet strength and heartiness in character was the bedrock in all his relationships.  Although more of a listener than a talker, he had a healthy sense of humor and a quick wit that frequently left his friends and family in tears from laughter.  He was also fastidious in his undertakings.  Whether it was planting flowers in the yard or updating a room for a home project, Jack would research and complete the task to his specifications ensuring a job beautifully well done.  He had many interests including history, astronomy, and watercolor painting, that he took tremendous joy in sharing with others.  He also traveled extensively with his beloved wife, Jane.  He and Jane were the perfect complement, capturing a love story that spanned six decades.  But Jack’s greatest legacy was his devotion to his family.  He was his childrens’ and grandchildrens’ biggest fan, being a ubiquitous presence at all their activities.  He was truly at his happiest when he was with them.

Beloved husband of 54 years to Jane (nee Russo) Senechal; loving father of Tara Senechal, Jack (Suzanne) Senechal and Kristi (Eric) Maurer; devoted grandfather of Benjamin and Sadie Jane Wanicur, Mackenzie and Jack Senechal, and Madeline, Samuel and Maryjane Maurer; dear brother of Jacqueline Senechal.  Jack is predeceased by his parents, Armand and Cecile Senechal and his brother Gerard Senechal.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jack's visitation on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, New Jersey.  Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, July 6, 2023, 10:00 AM at St. Isaac Jogues Parish, 349 Evesboro Medford Road, Marlton, NJ  08053.  Inurnment will follow at Jesus, Bread of Life Cemetery, Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
