Obituary for Joan F. Bokunewicz (Harkins)
Joan F. Bokunewicz, age 90, of Moorestown, passed away on February 2, 2022.
Joan was born in Philadelphia to the late Margaret and Frank Harkins and resided there until 1994. Joan moved to Hainesport in 1994 and lived there until 2018. She lived first with her son Fran, daughter-in-law Cheryl and grandchildren Taylor and Matthew. Then at The Glen at Masons Creek where she was an active member of the community. She loved her time as a member of the Red Hat Society, Hainesport Italian Club, Senior Citizen of Hainesport and a book club, enjoying luncheons and gatherings. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, reading and aquacise as well as taking her grandkids to lunch. She loved time at the Ocean City beach with her kids and grandkids. She was formerly employed by Modern Steel and ARA where she met many friends. Joan's final years were spent at Harmony Village in Moorestown.
Joan is predeceased by her husband, Leonard Bokunewicz and her siblings, Frank C. Harkins and Merle A. Tolkacz. Survived by her children, Deborah Walters (Michael), William Hannan (Kim), Diane Farrell (David) and Francis Hannan (Cheryl); grandchildren, David Walters (Kelly), Daniel Walters (Shannon), David Farrell (Adrienne), Erin Farrell (Sean Kley), Alison Farrell, Taylor Curto (Anthony) and Matthew Hannan; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kaden Walters.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 9AM-10AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Funeral Service to follow at 10AM. Interment of cremated remains to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
The family requests that masks must be worn at all times.
