John W. Callaghan, resident of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2021.
John was born in Southwest Philadelphia, was raised in Merion Station, Pennsylvania. He attended Valley Forge Military Academy, served in the Pennsylvania National Guard, and attended Temple University. John was the devoted husband of the late Sally Ann Callaghan (nee Gallagher). He enjoyed his long sales career in the boating, educational, and industrial power industries. John’s hobbies included photography, playing guitar, and spending time with his pets. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
John is survived by his sister Joan Gravitz (nee Callaghan), his children Andrew Callaghan (Karen), Stephen Callaghan (Jill), Joanne Mitchell (William), Brian Callaghan (Geralyn), and Patrick Callaghan, his grandchildren Stephanie Ramirez (Jon), Meaghan Christy (Shaun), Daniel Mitchell, John Callaghan, Jennifer Canfield (Collin), Caitlin Callaghan (Jon Cuccinello), Laura Callaghan, and Sean Callaghan, and his great-grandchildren Brody Ramirez and Liam Canfield.
Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School, 1801 South 4th Street, Camden, NJ 08104.
