Obituary for John B. McDevitt
John B. McDevitt, age 93, of Mount Laurel, NJ passed away while surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.
Mr. McDevitt was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and had resided in Cape May, NJ before moving to Mount Laurel. He served his country honorably in the US Navy during World War II. In his leisure he enjoyed gardening, and watching sunsets and ships at Sunset Beach. But above all, he cherished the time spent with family and will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind.
John is survived by his beloved spouse, Helen McDevitt (nee Thurston); children, John K. McDevitt, Robert McDevitt, Barbara George; sister, Jean Geehring; grandchildren, Lisa Foxhill, Keri McDevitt, Ryan McDevitt, Jaclyn Taglialatela, Alexandra Kirkpatrick; 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his granddaughters, Holly Morris and Erin McDevitt.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 10th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM also on Monday, February 10th at Saint John Neumann RC Church, 560 Walton Ave, Mount Laurel, NJ. Inurnment will follow at Park View Cemetery in Medford, NJ.
