Obituary for John Louis Santangelo

John L. Santangelo, age 97, of Hainesport, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. 

John was born on October 31, 1926 to the late Lena (nee Zinni) and Luigi Santangelo in Philadelphia, PA. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. John was retired from the Naval Ship Yard in Philadelphia as Superintendant and also retired from the Navy Reserves. He loved baseball and the Philadelphia Phillies. John enjoyed taking his children to different baseball stadiums. John loved spending time with his family and always loved playing different sports with them.  He was also a longtime member of Our Lady of Counsel in Moorestown. John will be missed deeply by his loved ones. 

John is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Joan (nee Mollenhauer); his children, Teresa Kozempel, Barbara (Cyril Bunda), Paul (Tina Makoulian), and Anthony (Jennifer); 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his children, Mary, John, Mark and Charles and his siblings, Mary, Frank, Connie, Gene, and Vincent. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 9:30AM-10:30AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Mass of Christian Burial will follow. Interment private at the request of the family.
