Obituary for John "Bud" Steever

John “Bud” Steever of Mt. Laurel, NJ passed away peacefully on February 16. He was born and raised in Taylor, PA, and the son of the late John Steever, Sr. and Dorothy Stone Steever. Bud was married to the late Ruth Watkins Steever for 68 loving years. Before moving to Mt. Laurel, he raised his family in Florham Park, NJ and enjoyed retirement in Shavertown, PA with Ruth. Bud was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hainesport, NJ.

Surviving are three daughters Gayle Baits (Justin), New Mexico, Karen Fetchko (Kevin), Moorestown, NJ and Beverly Daly (Tom), New Hampshire; Eight grandchildren, Keri Leininger (Paul), Amanda Cordero (Adam), Brooke Baits, Kyle, Kenny & Kristen Fetchko, Hannah & Tommy Daly and six great grandchildren. Bud was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Watkins Steever and his sister, Ann Greggs.

Bud was one of a kind, an amazing man with great love for his family, friends, country and church. We will miss his unconditional love and support. He was formerly a member of Acacia Lodge #579 F&AM in Taylor, PA, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Bloomsburg, PA, and Irem Shriners International, Dallas, PA. He was an Army Air Corps veteran, service from 1943-1946.

Bud graduated from Taylor High School, Embry Riddle School of Aviation (Florida), and Spartan School of Aviation (Oklahoma). He was employed by Parker Hannifin Corporation as a sales engineer receiving many awards, including Parker Diamond Team Award. John retired in 1987 after a successful career.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Rd., Mt. Laurel, NJ. The Funeral service and burial will be held on Saturday, February 20th at 1:00 PM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 910 Marne Highway, Hainesport, NJ 08036.
