Obituary for Judge Paul Ramos Chavez

“Judge Paul “Pablo” Ramos Chavez, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2021, at the age of 82.
Pablo was born in a small town in San Jose, Batangas, Philippines to the late Flaviano and Maria Chavez. For more than fifty (50) years he has served the Philippine Government as Public Lawyer and Trial Court Judge until he retired in 2009 at the age of 70.

Though he devoted half of his lifetime to his career as lawyer and judge, he took respite from his hectic work by spending precious time with his wife and seven (7) married children, 14 grandchildren and two (2) great-grandchildren. To date, five (5) of his children are permanent residents of New Jersey, USA, who have given him nine (9) smart and beautiful grandchildren.
A loyal and committed family man, whose love for education is beyond measure, Pablo enjoyed reading, ballroom dancing, gardening and farming, taking care of pets, watching TV, and Facebook-ing.
He was a devout Catholic, who emulated the virtues of charity, fortitude, justice, temperance and prudence, until he breathed his last.

Pablo is survived by his wife, Consuelo “Conching” Chavez; children, Rey Chavez, Nancy Bernardo, Leandro Chavez, Roland Chavez, Grace Ty, Christina Fernandez and Marye Mikula; sister, Nenette Garcia; grandchildren, Christian Chavez, Valerie Chavez, Mary Anne Reyes, Ivan Bernardo, Joshua Chavez, Katrina Chavez, Kadmiel Chavez, Nicky Ty, Vanessa Ty, Sofia Ty, Branden Fernandez, Jessica Fernandez, Samantha Fernandez and Naya Mikula; great-grandchildren, Maddy Reyes and Cyler Bernardo.

Pablo’s family invites Relatives and Friends to a public viewing on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ, 08054. A funeral service will take place at 4:00 pm. As Pablo’s wish during his time, His remains will be cremated and later buried at the final resting place in his home province of Batangas, Philippines.
