Obituary for Lorraine Madigan
Lorraine Madigan, age 93, went home to the Lord on August 31, 2021.
A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lorraine was born in Holyoke, MA, to the late Joseph and Rose Phaneuf and resided in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Mount Laurel, NJ, 53 years ago. She was an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church where she participated in the choir for many years and helped at the school. An avid volunteer, Lorraine also spent many years as the “Storytime Lady” at the Mount Laurel Library. In addition to volunteering, she enjoyed reading, crafts, and traveling (especially cross-country adventures in the trailer); but most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Gerard T. Madigan, and her sister, Pauline Bayeur. She is survived by her children, Gerard “Gerry” Madigan and his wife Carol of Fredericksburg, VA, Peter Madigan of Mount Laurel, NJ, and Elizabeth Greenberg and her husband Joel of East Windsor, NJ; her grandchildren, Alanna Madigan of Bristow, VA, Zachary, Sarah and Joshua Greenberg of East Windsor, NJ, Travis McFadden and his wife Samantha of Fredericksburg, VA, and Sam McFadden of Green Bay, WI; and her great granddaughters, Amelia and Olivia McFadden of Fredericksburg, VA.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, September 10, 2021, from 6-8 pm and again on Saturday September 11, 2021, from 11-12 pm both at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 West Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057.
Interment will immediately follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Moorestown, NJ.
