Obituary for Louis Ortiz

Louis Ortiz, age 80, of Camden, NJ passed away in the comfort of his own home while surrounded by loving family on Monday, March 8, 2021.

Mr. Ortiz was born in Santa Isabel, PR and had resided in Riverside, NJ before moving to Camden. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965 as an ammunition specialist. Louis was extremely devoted to his catholic faith and was a member of Saint Casimir’s RC Church in Riverside and Immaculate Conception RC Church in Camden. In his leisure, he enjoyed camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind.

Louis is survived by his beloved spouse, Luz M. Ortiz (nee Borrero); children, Mary Lou Perry, Delia Reed, Marie Ortiz, Louis Ortiz, Johnathan Ortiz; grandchildren, Heather Wolf, Grace Eckstrom, Christine Perry, Jessica Boulger, Brittany Meli, Joe Wawrzynski, Dominique Wawrzynski, Cory Reed, Cody Reed, Krysta Wilbank, Dillon Ortiz, Chole Ortiz, Zoe Ortiz ,Paige Ortiz, Peyton, James Carr Jr., Sierra Ortiz; great-grandchildren, Parker Wolf, Lincoln Wolf, Eli Madden, Weston Eckstrom, Maddie Boulger, Ethan Boulger, Cia Meli, Antonia Meli. Louis was comforted in death by Raquel Menedez-Arriega.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM followed by a 12:00 PM funeral service on Tuesday, March 16th, both at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
