Obituary for Luther A "Tony" Dawson
Luther “Tony” Dawson, age 78, of Southampton, NJ passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022.
Tony was born and raised in Washington, DC to the late Luther and Helen Dawson, and resided in many different states due to his career as a manager for the railroad. He settled in Marlton, NJ to raise his family then retired and moved to Womelsdorf, PA before returning to NJ in recent years. Even after his retirement, Tony enjoyed trains and their history. He was a member of the West Jersey Chapter of the National Railway Historic Society and liked to collect and display model trains. In his free time, Tony loved to play golf, read, and spend time with his family. Tony was a wonderful and extremely hard-working man who did much to serve his family and community. He is very loved and missed by his family and all those who were fortunate to know him.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of over 51 years, Jean Dawson; their children, Christopher Dawson (Cathy), Thomas Dawson (Jennifer), and Erin DeFeo (Frederick); sister, Margaret Hobbs; and grandchildren, Victoria, Anthony, Jr., Brendan, Tyler, Aaron, Alec, Liam, Lucas, and Kaitlyn.
Relatives and friends are welcome to a visitation on Monday, September 19th, 2022 from 10:00-11:00AM, followed immediately by a Mass at 11:00AM. Both will be held at St. Joan of Arc, 100 Willow Bend Rd, Marlton, NJ 08053. Interment will be private.
