Obituary for Lyford M. "Jerry" Moore
Lyford M. Moore “Jerry” of Mount Laurel passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
He was 80 years old. Born in Detroit, MI, he resided in Mount Laurel for 45 years. Jerry was a journalist having worked for the Associated Press and the Courier Post for 35 years serving as city editor, feature and sports writer. He also contributed freelance articles to ski and travel magazines. He was a Navy veteran.
Jerry was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, in addition to his constant support of his granddaughters’ sports and school activities. He enjoyed tennis, ski trips, and vacations with family and friends at the Jersey shore. He loved to travel all over the United States and Europe. The family would like to thank everyone at Samaritan Hospice for the loving care he received.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Elizabeth Moore (nee Brown), his loving children Michael M. (Elizabeth) Moore, Kathryn A. (Brian) Fricker. Devoted grandfather of Kathryn E. Fricker and Courtney A. Fricker.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation with his family on Saturday, January 7 from 10-11AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Memorial service will follow at 11AM.
