Obituary for Madeleine Marie "Maddy" Landry
Madeleine M. Landry, age 84, of Mount Laurel, New Jersey passed away on January 25, 2021. Maddy was born in Northbridge, Massachusetts on April 28, 1936 to the late Leon and Ernestine Caya.
After graduating from St. Clare High School in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Maddy went on to earn her nursing degree from St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. She married the love of her life, Norman R. Landry, on May 31, 1958. They started their family in Huntsville, Alabama where Norm was an electronics instructor for the U.S. Army. They moved to New Jersey in 1960 where they settled and went on to raise their four children.
Maddy enjoyed needlework, cross-stitch, tatting, knitting and crocheting. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Mom never forgot a name or a face and never failed to mark a special occasion. Through the years, she made many cross-stitch birth announcements, wedding records, Christmas scenes, and other unique mementos that she gave to family and friends as gifts that will long be treasured. Maddy and Norm always enjoyed traveling. After Norm retired, they were able to travel extensively within the U.S., Canada and Europe.
Maddy is survived by her beloved husband, Norman; her children, Lisa Mohr (Robert), Linda Hagelstein (Charles), Karen Renzulli (Richard), and Michael Landry; her grandchildren, Carolyn Nissley (Christian), Robert Mohr (Caryla), Amy Rouselle (Anthony), James Hagelstein (Stephanie), Christine Barmoy (Chase), Anthony Renzulli (Jill his fiancée), Leo Landry, and Max Landry; her great-grandchildren, Avery, Ayden, Gideon, Temperance, June, James, and Chase; and her many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday January 30th at 10:30 at Corpus Christi Church in Willingboro, New Jersey.
Entombment will be private at Jesus Bread of Life Mausoleum in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
