Obituary for Margaret Marie Harnack (Stuempfle)

Margaret “Peggy” (nee Stuempfle) Harnack, 86, of Atco, New Jersey, passed away on June 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Meyersdale, PA, Margaret was a resident of Mount Laurel for the 60 years prior to moving to Atco 3 years ago.  In her younger years, Margaret was a medical secretary, but her most important roles were that of a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and lastly, grandmother.  Margaret loved all the Philadelphia sports teams.  She especially loved the Eagles and her family knew not to call during the games.  She was a lover of all animals particularly cats.  All the cats she had in her lifetime were rescues and there were many.  Margaret and her husband Richard enjoyed their summers sailing Barnegat Bay on their 1978 Tartan 34 classic sailboat.  They would always enjoy racing other sailboats and most of the time winning.  They made many memories on the sailboat with their family and friends. She also enjoyed baking, cooking and was an avid reader.

Beloved wife of the late Richard; devoted mother of Lauren (Tom) Franzese, Todd (Susan) Harnack and Kurt (Linda) Harnack; cherished grandmother of Samantha Franzese, Kyle, Eric, Richard and Virginia Harnack and the late Thomas "TJ" Franzese; dear sister of Sarah "Sally" (Ray) Damm and dear cousin Janet (Abe) Shaffer.  Margaret is predeceased by her parent Ernest and Margaret Stuempfle.  She will be dearly missed by all those that loved her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Margaret's name to the Thomas "TJ" Franzese Foundation, 28 Cedar Drive, Allendale, NJ  07401.

Services for Margaret will be held privately, but please feel free to share a story or memory of Margaret at our website www.mountlaurelfuneralhome.com
