Marie-Lourdes Diogene, age 73, passed away in Garden City, Kansas on Monday, March 6, 2023.

Marie-Lourdes was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on October 5, 1949. She attended school at Fernande Laurenso. She studied cosmetology and seamstressing. She used her passion for sewing to develop a wholesale business selling fabrics. Her business allowed her to travel to many countries throughout South America and the Caribbean.

When she migrated to the US, she spent the majority of her time in Hollywood, Florida. In the states, she was a woman of many trades. Marie-Lourdes loved traveling. She spoke Haitian Creole, French, Spanish and English fluently. She was known to be very funny and loved joking with her family and friends. She is very loved and will be missed dearly.

Marie-Lourdes is predeceased by her parents, Marie-Therese Diogene and Albert Jeanty, her daughter, Kathy Excellent, and her son Patrick Brizard. She had 5 sisters and 5 brothers. She is survived by her children; Marie-Antoinette Vertus, Myriam Brizard, Sophie Jasmin, and Martine Guerrero; Grandchildren, Stenly Vertus, McSteve Vertus, Marie-Yves Cadet, Eureka Vertus, Yvan Vertus, Rudolph Isidore, Reedge Isidore, Raphael Isidore, Rivelino Excellent, Adelaide Remy, Jasmin-Iveline Hilarie, Nathaniel Hilarie, Antoine Ivemael Hilarie, Mylah Jewel Guerrero; Great-Grandchildren, Maelle Cadet, Maila Antoinette Cadet, and Kellan Majeur Vertus Nephews; Leroy Charles-Pierre, Junior Charles-Pierre, Prince Charles-Pierre, Nadhelo Charles-Pierre Nieces; Saona Charles Pierre, Marie-Edith, and Rodlyne Charles-Pierre.

Friends and family are welcome to her visitation on Friday, March 17, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed immediately by her funeral service, both at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054. Interment will be private.
