Obituary for Mark Alan Juengert

Mark Alan Juengert, age 56, of Mount Laurel, NJ, born in Mount Holly, NJ on December 26, 1964, passed away on May 19, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Tinamarie (DeHabey) Juengert; his two sons, Brenden Patrick Juengert and Ryan Colin Juengert. Also survived by his brother, Nicholas Juengert, sister-in-law, Karen Juengert; nephew, Dylan Juengert and niece, Jordan Juengert. Sister-in-law, Diane Mackel; nephews James Joseph Mackel, Jr., and nephew, Dillion Mackel. Pre-deceased by his brother-in-law, James Mackel, Sr. Beloved son of the late, Nicholas Andrew Juengert and mother, Evelyn (Turner) Juengert.

Mark was a resident of Willingboro, NJ, for 35 years and a resident of Mount Laurel for the last 21 years of his life. Mark graduated from Willingboro High School, where he and Tina first locked eyes. However, Mark did not know that Tinamarie DeHabey was his person at that time. It wasn’t until he had to get certified in CPR, for the Willingboro Fire Department, that he fell in love with his instructor, Tinamarie! By the end of the course, he mustered up the courage to ask her out on a date…that was 37 years ago! Mark won Tina over with his “smart-eating grin” and his dry-sarcastic-playful humor; they were best friends. They were soul mates.

Mark was a volunteer Fire Fighter for Willingboro Township for over 15 years. It was there, that he found his true passion in emergency community service. Throughout the years, he pursued his education in Fire College to obtain an Associates degree in Fire Science. He continued his passion to serve the public and make Fire Fighting his career. He retired as Lieutenant Mark A. Juengert in July of 2020, with an outstanding 32-year career at the Department of Defense, Joint Base of NJ, McGuire-Dix, Lakehurst- Fire Emergency Services.

A parishioner of Saint John Newman Catholic Church. Mark was a wonderful, kind, gentle and selfless man, a man who would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was dedicated, fun-loving and highly respected among his community and colleagues. A testament of how Mark lived his life. He always went the extra mile. The perfect role-model to his own boys; he was their hero, their buddy, their sports mentor. Not just any sports team and not just any sport; the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Philadelphia Phillies! He coordinated his favorite three shirts with these three teams: Phillies T-shirt, Eagles T-shirt, and his Flyers Polo shirt. His Fort Dix, Fire Fighter sweatshirt was also a staple fashion statement.

Besides being “Mr. Fix-it”, always working on something around the house, Mark enjoyed making hand-painted holiday decorations. Some of his creations are 32 years old and are still displayed with love during holidays! Mark loved cruises, fishing, Disney and anything related to the Revolutionary War. He would think nothing of packing the family and doing a road trip to Williamsburg, VA, to explore the parks, museums and take in the history. A true history buff. He enjoyed parades, whether marching as a participant, or just being a spectator. From fireworks to fire-engines, the Wildwood Fireman’s Convention was another trip he enjoyed, which strengthened his love for his demanding and rewarding career. Mark was a member of the IAFF, International Association of Fire Fighters, Union, Local #313.

Most of all, he took pride in his family. Family parties, picnics and celebrations were a highlight in his life. Mark was so proud of his family’s achievements. Brenden and Ryan were so inspired by their father’s love of fire fighting, they both are pursuing emergency service careers. The best father to his two boys, and the most wonderful husband to the love of his life, Tinamarie. His love was unconditional and genuine.

Mark was a dedicated son to his parents. A great brother and loving uncle. He maintained childhood friendships for life. Always putting others before himself. A strong man, a true fighter, Mark loved his family. He gave his sons the best advice, advice all fathers should give their children, “listen to your mother” … a quiet, but mighty man. A proud and wonderful person. A man that will be missed by so many, way too young to leave so soon.
