Obituary for Mark Allen Wurpel
Mark A. Wurpel, age 70, of Lumberton, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023 in the comfort of his own home.
Mark was born in Trenton, NJ, to the late Clifford and Natalie Wurpel and was raised in Hamilton Square, NJ. He has resided in Lumberton, NJ for over 30 years. He worked as a Civil Engineer for Amtrak for many years. In his free time, Mark enjoyed fishing, listening to 50’s music, learning about history, and Letterboxing with his wife. Above all else, Mark loved spending time with his family and friends.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Alice Wurpel; his children, Allen Wurpel and Angelique Wurpel; step-children, Sean Malloy and Erin Niederer (Nathaniel); siblings, Debra Gipson, Matthew Wurpel, Kathryn Ronca, Anne Tella, and Adam Wurpel; grandchildren, Willow Skye, Finn River, and Ava Belle; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are welcome to his visitation on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 1:00-2:00PM, and his memorial service immediately following at 2:00PM. Both will be held at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Rd, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark’s memory may be made to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
