Obituary for Michael F. Burns
Michael F Burns, age 60, of Mount Laurel, New Jersey passed away in the early morning of Saturday, January 30, 2021. Michael was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Francis Burns and Marie Toner.
He went to Drexel University and Thomas Edison State University where he obtained his Masters in Business Administration. He worked in the land surveying industry for over 40 years and was with Maser Consulting for the last 18 years where he was a Regional Survey Manager. He had his license in NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA, WV, CT, NC and Washington DC. He was also a Certified TotalSDI Facilitator since 2017.
He met his wife, Mindy Blau-Burns, in March of 1987 at Pennoni Associates and were married by June 1987 and were inseparable ever since. They had a wonderful nearly 34 years of marriage full of love, laughter and beautiful friendship. He is also survived by his daughter, Hannah Blau-Burns (27) and his son, Max Burns (24). Michael also loved their family dog, Kiki, and their cat, Baby. He was a family man above all else and always put them first. There was never a shortage of love or laughter in this household.
Michael had an enormous passion for metal detecting and would go out as often as he could to any location that would allow him to detect. He went by All Metal Mike - his first big finds were at the Alice Paul Institute and even did a presentation on the many things he uncovered. He was a part of the South Jersey Metal Detecting Club and recently a recognized member of the Mount Laurel Historical Society with a 2020 Burlington County Historical Preservation award in the category of Archival Records/Documentation for his metal detecting and research.
He loved to read, do puzzles, play music, paint and watch movies. Life was filled with laughter with Michael. He was loved, respected and looked up too by so many and was always willing to lend an ear, talk to anyone and give the shirt off his back.
