Obituary for Mildred Blackwell
Mildred Berrien Blackwell of Marlton, NJ, formerly of Buttonwood Bay in Sebring, FL and Hamilton Square, NJ, passed away on February 19, 2022 at the age of 103.
A kind and loving woman, Mildred dedicated her life to her family. Mildred graduated high school from Hamilton High West and received her RN from Mercer Hospital School of Nursing and received her BS from Trenton State College. She was a retired registered nurse spending 21 years at Steinert High School in Hamilton Twp, NJ. Mildred was a member of the Nottingham Chapter #246 Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies Auxiliary of Nottingham Fire Company, original Nottingham Ambulance, Buttonwood Bay Crime Watch and Buttonwood Bay Ambulance Co-op. She will be missed deeply by her family.
Mildred is predeceased by her parents, Cora and James Whitehurst, her first husband, Harry Berrien, and her second husband, Clifford E. Blackwell. She is survived by her children, Carol Kester (Bill) of Bethany Beach, DE and James Berrien (Nancy) of Bayville, NJ; grandchildren, Dr. Kimberly Friedman (Les) and Kurt Kester (Marybeth); great-grandchildren, Leanne, Karissa and Nicolas; stepson, Paul Blackwell (Linda).
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 9:00am to 10:00am at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. A memorial service will follow at 10:00am. Interment of cremated remains Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Township, NJ.
