Obituary for Noel Sewer-Ferguson

Noel Sewer-Ferguson, of Willingboro, NJ, age 83, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2021.

Noel was born on December 11, 1937 to the late Loman and Idalia Sewer. She was born on the Island of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. She attended Dober Elementary school in St. Thomas. In 1953, Noel graduated from Charlotte Amalie Junior High School and then attended Charlotte Amalie high school. Shortly after graduating high school she moved to New York City.

For many years, Noel worked at Harlem Hospital, Manhattan Psychiatric Center and Willowbrook Mental Health Center. She then went on to become a Real Estate Agent and successful Broker for Coldwell Banker in Staten Island, NY. After reaching 2 million dollars of sales, she was awarded the Coldwell Banker Rookie of the Year in 2001. In addition to being a Real Estate Broker, Noel became a business owner and acquired Staten Island Party Rental.

In 1961, Noel married Stanley Ferguson. She later had 3 beautiful children Anthony Ferguson, Stephanie Whitaker-Stevens and Stacy Ferguson. Noel extended her love and devotion to family and adopted Raheem Ferguson. She went on to foster more than 15 children. Her children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She took pride in being able to nurture and care for all of her grandkids and foster kids. After school Grandma’s house was the place to be. She was a wonderful cook, baker, and loved to make delicious meals for her loved ones. She was also very creative and loved “do-it-yourself” projects, like furniture repainting. In her free time, Noel enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, reading the bible, watching wrestling, going sight-seeing and collecting keep-sakes. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays. Above all else, Noel loved being with her family, often telling stories to them all, listening to soca and dancing. She is sincerely loved and will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents Loman and Idalia Sewer, sisters Albertha Maynard, Elaine Donovan and Iris Emelda Sewer-Thomas.

Noel is survived by her children, Anthony Ferguson, Stephanie Whitaker-Stevens and son in law Richard Stevens Jr., daughter, Stacy Ferguson, and son Raheem Ferguson; sisters, Doreen Fields and brother in law Robert Fields and sister Lela Neymour and brother in law Derek Neymour; grandchildren, Demond Ferguson, Timothy Ferguson, Aishah Ferguson, Tiffanie Whitaker, Anthony Ferguson, Jr., and granddaughter in law Aleisha Joiner-Ferguson, granddaughter Latrice Chambers and grandson in law Steven Chambers, Shaun Whitaker and granddaughter in law Dana Whitaker, granddaughter Janay Doctor, and Daphanie Rea; and great-grandchildren, Demond Ferguson, Jr., Leniyah Ferguson, Sarae Gabriel, Nyla Tamin, Amiyah Ferguson, Chloe Chambers, Jailyn Cook, Arylle Ferguson, Israel Gabriel, Owen Noel Ferguson and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends are welcome to her viewing on Monday, December 13th, 2021 from 9:30-11:30AM, followed immediately by her Funeral Service at 11:30AM. Both will be held at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Entombment will follow the service at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery, 1300 Route 130 North Cinnaminson, NJ 08077.
