Obituary for Peter Sullivan
Peter Sullivan, 60, of Ottumwa, Iowa, formerly of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, died February 2, 2019 at home.
He was born November 18, 1958 in West New York, NJ to Richard and Irene Prigge Sullivan. He married Joan Rider on August 26, 2003.
A graduate of Willingboro High School and of Stockton State College, he earned a M.A. in Criminal Justice from New Mexico State University. He worked for 25 years for the Mt. Laurel Police Department retiring as sergeant in 2011. He taught criminal justice in Philadelphia and taught criminal justice at Indian Hills Community College.
Peter was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Loge #191.
Surviving is his wife, Joan; a daughter, Shelby; 3 step-sons, Joshua Jefferson of Keiser, OR, Jacob Jefferson of Medford, NJ and Jordan Jefferson of Philadelphia, PA; his mother, Irene Sullivan of New Jersey; his siblings, Barbara (Dr. Joseph) Di Martini of St. Louis, MO, Richard (Helena) Sullivan of Burlington, NJ and Chris (Kathy) Sullivan of Littleton, CO.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sullivan.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 23, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed immediately by a memorial service, both at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel.
