Obituary for Raymond Keith Bowman

Raymond K. Bowman, surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully, on May 14, 2021. Born on September 15, 1940 in Hamilton, Ohio, he lived an incredibly rich life that took him on adventures all over the world from Fort Knox, Kentucky to overseas aboard the USS Boston (CAG-1), finally settling in Edgewater Park, New Jersey for the last 46 years, establishing a long and successful career in the automotive service industry.

Raymond is survived by a loving family including his wife of 47 years, Pamela, children, Christopher (Samantha), Sara (Daniel) Deichert, adoring grandchildren, Zachary & Carly Deichert, and by his siblings, all who affectionately called him “Buddy”, Wanda Spurlock, Marlene Guynes and Hugh (Pam) Guynes) and many nieces and nephews.

Lucky enough to see multiple Phillies World Series Championships and an Eagles SuperBowl victory, rarely did a day go by without Ray providing color commentary from home or the ballpark. Few people are lucky enough to turn hobbies into passions but Ray made just such a transition as a competitive Weimaraner field dog owner and long term member of the English Setter Club of America, including many years serving on the Board of Directors. Ever the staunchest supporter of our servicemen and women, he faithfully attended to the American Flag he proudly flew in his front yard.

Family and friends are welcome to a visitation on Friday May 21, 2021 from 10:00-12:00PM, followed immediately by a Memorial Service. Both will be held at Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mt Laurel, NJ 08054. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers and condolences, Ray’s wish was to pay it forward and support all of the children served by St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Donations in Raymond’s memory may be made at the following link: https://www.stjude.org/donate/
