Obituary for Raymond J Cox

Raymond “RJ” Cox, III, 58, passed suddenly on June 11, 2022.

Ray, friend of Bill W. for seven years, is survived by his mother, Sally Cox, sister Nancy (Patrick, d. 2016) Arey, and brother Joe (Mary) Cox. RJ took pride in being a devoted and cherished uncle to Sarah (Joe Czaja) Arey and their children, Hannah, Nate, Mary, Thomas and Isabella, Patrick (Dawn) Arey, and their three daughters, Grace (Matt) Repas, and their two daughters, Nick Arey and Betsy Arey. Predeceased by his father, Ray, Jr., and his beloved Elvis, Ray is also survived by Bobbie Ann Cox and her three children, Barbara, Bob, and Brian Hentz. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School (82) and the former Glassboro State College. Ray was a music connoisseur and a guitarist, who drew many friends and fans. He was a lover of animals. He was “Daddy” to young pup, Jerry Garcia, who misses him and their shenanigans together. Ray had a quick, colorful wit, and big, sensitive heart. We’ll ALL miss him enormously. Each relationship is unique and each experience of the loss of our beloved son / brother / uncle / friend is “tall guy” RJ sized.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 9:30AM – 10:30AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
