Obituary for Raymond Bernard Fox
On Wednesday December 11, 2019 Raymond Fox, loving father, brother and friend to so many, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 with his family by his side.
Ray was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one of 5 children. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army and then graduated from Florida Southern University following his honorable discharge in 1946. Ray married the love of his life, Evaline J. Fox and they were married for 45 years before her passing in 2003. Ray and Juanita traveled the country for the first years of their union, priding themselves in living in over 40 states. In August of 1961 Ray and Juanita had their only child, Brenda, who was, without a doubt, “Daddy’s Little Girl”.
Upon Ray’s retirement in 1988 Ray and Juanita moved to Mt. Laurel, NJ to be close to Brenda. Ray’s retirement was sure an active one. He was the first (and long-standing) President of his homeowner’s association, volunteered for many organizations, and remained an avid sports fan, especially of his beloved Notre Dame Football team. Early in 2019 Ray moved into Care One Assisted Living, a place he lovingly called home, and immediately got the reputation of being quite the Bingo player, ladies’ man and friend to all.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Brenda Davis (nee Fox), son-in-law, Mike Davis, sister, Irene Draham, and his many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday December 20th at St. John Neumann Church on Walton Road in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Visitation will be at the church from 8:45 am and 9:45 am followed by Mass at 10:00 am. There will be a brief service at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Rt. 541 in Hainesport, NJ. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at Carlucci’s Restaurant at 12:15 pm on Centerton Road in Mt. Laurel, all are welcome to attend and celebrate what a wonderful life Ray lived.
In lieu of flowers we think that Dad would love to have donations made in his name to Care One – Evesham Assisted Living, the place that was so special to him, for a memorial in his honor.
