Obituary for Richard Tyburczy

Sadly we announce the passing of Richard J. Tyburczy, 79, on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Originally from Garfield N.J., Rich was born in 1942 to the late John and Valerie Tyburczy, and was predeceased by his younger brothers John and Robert.

Rich is survived by his wife Alyce (nee Janus), his wonderful children Tricia Ford (Michael), R. David (Stacey), and Karin Tyburczy and her husband Michal Balcerzak. Rich was also blessed to have 5 grandchildren, Abigail, Eliza and Clara Ford, and Madison and Richard Sawyer Tyburczy. Rich leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rich and Alyce met in high school and remained together for 56 years of marriage. Throughout those years Rich was a very attentive dad, attending many, many athletic events including T-ball, softball, soccer games and gymnastic and cheerleading competitions. And when his children were younger, Friday nights were special. Dad made some homemade pizza and all their friends in the neighborhood would show up for “Mr. T’s.” pizza !

Employed for over 30 years by Upjohn/Pharmacia/Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Rich retired in 2000 and became our family chef. Family and friends were always welcomed as new recipes were created and grilling became his specialty! And as the years passed by, Rich was also admired (envied) by men of many generations, including his son and son-in-law, for his full head of luxurious, dark (no gray) hair!

Although having relocated to South Jersey some 45 years ago, Rich remained a lifelong New York Giants fan, having previously been a season ticket holder. He would support the Giants through good times and bad, through joy and disappointment, and would never miss a game on TV. And so in Rich’s name - GO GIANTS!

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 2:00pm - 3:30pm at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Memorial service will follow at 3:30pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Donate Life, www.donatelife.net to help increase the number of organ, eye and tissue donors.
