Ms. Harting,
Our sincere condolelences to you and your family. ‘SGT Harting‘ , as we fondly knew him was a very unique and great man! Very few NCOs in his position know how to balance authority and comeraderie within his troops, he always seemed to have the needed ingredients to accomplish that. He was well respected! May he Rest In Peace and may the memories and legacy he left behind Give you strength to carry you through the difficult days ahead and beyond. God bless all of you.

Rest In Peace Ricky! I’ll never forget the friendship we developed right away while deployed to Iraq in 2003. We called ourselves Fireman #1 and Fireman #2 after the George Strait song “The Fireman. You will be missed my friend. Go rest high upon that mountain. My prayers are with Kathy and his family. He was a friend to everyone he met.

Harting Family:

I’m so sorry fork your loss,....Ricky Harting, MSgt, USAF Ret, was my first experience with our professional NCO corps.... someone who cared about his team, development of the Airmen entrusted to his care, and taught this 2Lt now Commander what it means to have a great NCO on your team. Throughout my career, I have many times benchmarked the attitude, care and devotion of this man to many NCOs in my organizations. With his family, and accomplished wife Kathy, they made trailer park living at Laughlin fun and exciting. My prayers go out to you Kathy and your whole extended family. Please let me know what I can do.
